Tuesday 6th @ 6.30pm: Cath Nichols will introduce her film The Boy Nancy at an open meeting of the Poetry & Poetics Research Group. Room M:46, Edgehill University, Ormskirk. Free.
Wednesday 7th @ 8pm: Dead Good Poets Society Open Floor. Twenty-four 5 minutes slots for you to perform your own poetry. Doors open 7.30pm. Come early to book a reading slot. Compered by the magnificent Aaron Murdoch – once seen never forgotten! The event will be recorded by BBC Radio 4. Wednesday 21st @ 8pm: Dead Good Poets Society Guest Night in conjunction with Sahir House & WHISC. Cate Jacobs will read poems from her first collection “Climbing Mountains in the Dark.” Based on her experience of living with HIV, her poetry covers diagnosis, bereavement, loss, love, becoming a grandmother and other unexpected dreams. There will also be a screening of a short film produced by Rebecca Dittman. Support comes courtesy of Carole Baldock, editor of Orbis, launching her first collection “Give Me Where To Stand” (Headland) and Janine Pinion with new writers from WHISC. Red ribbons will be available, and at the end of the evening a collection will be held for Sahir House in advance of World Aids Day. 3rd Room, Everyman Bistro, Hope St, Liverpool 1.
