Monday 14th April @7.30pm : Open Mic session at Liverpool Poetry Cafe.
Hosted by Yours Truly (hem, hem). Five minute spots for you to perform
your own poetry in supportive and friendly atmosphere. I will be taking
names for reading spaces from 7.15pm and despite what you may have
heard, cannot be bribed with offers of skinny lattes or chocolate
brownies… Reading spots allocated on a first come basis. Hope to see

Wednesday 16th April @ 8pm: Dead Good Poets Society Guest Night starring
Rosie Garland – Rosie Lugosi’s alter ego’s alter ego.
Rosie has been GARLANDED with accolades for her poetry which combines
wonderful words with equally wonderful performance. You can check out

Monday 21st April@ 8pm: The Liverpool Poetry Slam 2008.
Eighteen poets go head to head for the title of Liverpool Slam Champion
2008.
A sharply fought contest went to the wire last year, with David Bateman
winning the title by 0.2 of a point. Can he retain his title? Will a
poetic upstart usurp him? You decide! Cash Prizes, including an award
for best newcomer, plus the chance to represent Liverpool in The Bristol
Poetry Slam at the Arnolfini in September.
If you would like to take part in The Slam, please contact me as soon as
possible.

Press Poets at the Liverpool Poetry Cafe.
A chance to hear Jean read from her latest collection Tilt (Winner of
the Costa Poetry Book Award).
