Make sure you don’t miss the next Heart Beats…
Friday 12 September 2008
Café Arlington @ Novas Contemporary Urban Centre
41 – 51 Greenland Street, Liverpool, L1 0BS
(By Cains Brewery, see below for directions)
Doors 8pm, £3/2 concessions
Featuring:
Cheshire Poet Laureate 2007, Jo Bell who in 2007 toured the UK with four previous poet laureates as ‘Bunch of Fives’ to great critical acclaim and sell-out audiences.
Tamsin Kendrick, who has performed at Latitude Festival and brings tales of the apocalypse and London’s lost heroes – all with a healthy dollop of wit.
After a white-hot performance at Heart Beats last year, we’re glad to see the return of headliners The Ex-men – mixing poetry with beats, bleeps and wordcages of their own creation. Affectionately described as ‘Underworld after six pints of mild’ by The Sunday Times.
Plus live music from Liverpool’s own slinky electro-rockers, Sex Education and an open mic slot for anyone to get up and read their own poems.
This event may contain adult language…

DIRECTIONS TO NOVAS CUC!
On foot/car: Go past China Town on your way to Park Road. Keep looking to your right and you will see a huge warehouse with big white letters that says ‘Novas Contemporary Urban Centre’! Turn right onto Parliament Street, then right onto Jamaica Street – opposite the Cains Brewery. The entrance is on Greenland Street, just off Jamaica Street.
By bus: The 82 bus stops right by it. You can catch this from Paradise Street Bus Station, or on Lime Street or by the bombed out church on Berry Street.
It’s about 3 mins on the bus!
