SATURDAY 17th March – DGPS POETRY READING GROUP: 11am – 1pm Bebington Library, Bebington, Wirral. Stephen Waling, poet & editor of Brando’s Hat poetry magazine, will give a short reading, followed by discussion of 4 poems. Refreshments provided.Free. SATURDAY 17th March: 2- 4PM. DEAD GOOD POETS SOCIETY WRITERS OF COLOUR WRITING GROUP. Edge Hill Library, Lodge Lane, Liverpool 8. For writers from a Black or Minority Ethnic Heritage. Experienced writing tutor & performance poet, Curtis Watt, will help you develop & polish your writing. Carole Baldock (Editor of Orbis International Literary Magazine) & Brian Wake (Driftwood Publishing) take you through the dos and don’ts of getting your poetry into print. Launch of his collection From the Page to the Stage (Headland, 2006) Levi is one of Liverpool’s foremost poets, with an international reputation.

Tonight’s event includes dance interpretations of his poetry by Bisakha Sarker (South Asian dancer) and Common Ground (Deaf sign dancers).

Adding to this inspiring evening of words and expression, to mark the launch of the Poetry in the City festival Somalian poet Abdillahi Awad Egeh will read new work, joined by Michael Murphy

Premier sci-fi poet Steve Sneyd with Alice Lenkiewicz, poet and editor of Neon Highway. Steve Sneyd’s work has appeared in numerous magazines, anthologies worldwide, and he has read at the SF event of National Yea r of Literature (UK). His collections include Bad News From the Stars and Ahaseurus on Mars (Atlantean Publishing)
Alice Lenkiewicz will also be reading from her first novella, Maxine (Bluechrome,www.bluechrome.co.uk)
