A range of poetry events are included in Wirral BookFest – a new literary festival which offers nearly 30 book-related events across Wirral.

The festival – which takes place from 7th to 12th April – promises something for everyone: graphic novels, murder mystery evening, speed-dating with books and author events.

The Best Word. John Siddique and Wirral’s Junior Poet Laureate

Nationally acclaimed poet John Siddique shares his favourite poems and some of his own gems accompanied by Wirral’s own Junior Poet Laureate, Holly Green.

Greasby Poets Evening: Celebrating Greasby In Poetry
Greasby Library 7.00pm-8.30pm. Details: 0151 677 5714. FREE
Greasby Library Poetry Group presents a poetical celebration of Greasby and the Wirral featuring winners of their poetry competition together with former Cheshire Laureate Andrew Rudd.Refreshments provided.

Poets from of Wirral Ode Show perform works inspired by pictures from Wallasey Amateur Photographic Society.

Wirral’s ‘Dead Good’ Poets
Hoylake Library. 7pm-9pm. FREE. Details: 0151 632 2754
Wirral-based poets from Liverpool’s Dead Good Poets Society including Clare Kirwan and Adam Khan, plus open floor – bring your own poem to read. Space limited.
